I know the area pretty well
Subject to where the 40 is blocked there are numerous routes by coming 'inside' - be that the A5 or the 41 across and up from the M1
The M40 has numerous options from Cherwell Valley Svs, A43 across to Northampton or further up inside to Warwick and through to the M42
For those unaware when you get north of Northampton j15/15A, there are roadworks all the way to the M6, which are camerered.
You will be running 50mph
The Bedford A14 route is a trot and a half, it will also drop you at the epicentre of the M1 digging, which is the new intersection of the 14 and m1/6

Just checking aa roadwatch, as I know certain networks are iffy around Bicester on the 40
There is a southbound access closure at the CV Svs, that will be causing minor delays, after that it is a clean run to the 42
The 43 is blocked half way across so skip that idea, stay on the 40
M1 not looking good, stationary north of Luton and a minor incident around MK at 14. A5 getting messy as people jump on I guess
For those that know the area or have nav - check out Dunstable, Aylesbury, Buckingham, Brackley, Banbury for the M40 or if more southerly, A41 at Hemel and Aylesbury then above, from A41HH it will take around an hour and quarter to get to Banbury,

M1 Bedfordshire - M1 closed and severe delays northbound between J12, A5120 (Flitwick) and J13, A421 (Bedford), because of a serious accident involving a car and a coach. Diversion in operation - the official diversion is via the A5120 to Flitwick, Steppingley Road and Fordfield Road to Millbrook, then the westbound A507. Long distance traffic is advised to use the M11/A1/A14 routes instead. Congestion to J11, A505 (Luton).

A few roads around all the accidents are showing red now as everyones coming off the mortorways.
